Pleiades Cluster, named after the Seven Sisters in Greek mythology, is an asterism and an open cluster in constellation Taurus dominated by 7 hot blue young stars, which are only about 100 million years old. Just 444 light years distance from Earth, it's one of the closest clusters to our planet. It's one of the best known naked-eye objects.


A bit of trivia: the cluster is known in Japan as Subaru, which also corresponds to 7 stars on Subaru logo, representing 7 sister-companies which are part of Fuji Heavy Industries.
